Kalshi’s election prediction markets could provide essential economic forecasts that influence consumer behavior and purchasing trends, which are vital for strategic business planning and staying competitive. These insights would help small businesses like mine anticipate shifts in consumer confidence and spending patterns based on political outcomes, allowing for more agile and informed decision-making. The CFTC’s proposal to ban these markets without fully considering their benefits for small businesses is deeply concerning. A more comprehensive review period would enable business owners and industry experts to voice their support for these markets, highlighting how they can enhance market predictability, improve competitiveness, and foster economic stability.
