    Comment Text:

Having spent many years in marine biology researching ocean conservation, I recognize the interconnectedness of environmental policies and political decisions. Election contracts could offer valuable insights into legislative changes impacting marine conservation efforts, pollution regulations, and sustainable fisheries management. These contracts would enable scientists and environmental advocates to anticipate policy shifts and advocate for evidence-based decision-making that protects marine ecosystems. The CFTC's proposal to ban these contracts is misguided and very unfortunate for all those who would benefit from them. By extending the comment period by another 60 days, stakeholders in marine conservation would have the opportunity to demonstrate how these markets contribute to ecosystem resilience, biodiversity preservation, and sustainable resource management. This extension is crucial for ensuring that regulatory decisions align with scientific evidence and promote policies that safeguard our oceans for future generations.
