Stop. Just stop. Nothing about middle-class people trying to understand or predict what the rich oligarchs are trying to force happen is “gambling.” If it is gambling for people to spend a few cents or a maximum of a few hundred dollars of our own money to share what we think might happen, then it is absolutely gambling for the oligarchs to throw millions of dollars into pressuring things to happen. Then it is also gambling for political commentators to get paid for their opinions. Anyone who goes on TV and speculates and gets paid for it is doing the exact same thing as The Poors. Come to think of it, what the professionals and oligarchs do is worse than gambling— it’s insider trading, bribery, and only tangentially gambling since they are almost assured of the outcome with access to classified information. So it’s gambling with cards up your sleeve or weighted dice.
