PredictIt is the only worthwhile site to discuss politics, because people back their research and analysis with real money. Anybody can spout an opinion, but only serious people back up their opinions. Frequently I see markets on Predictit start to move before actual events begin to go in the same direction.

There are many, many websites and businesses that legally promote meaningless gaming, like sports betting. There are no limits on the amount people can bet (and lose,) unlike Predictit, which limits people to $850 per market. It seems to me, allowing, even promoting pointless gambling (as the NFL, for instance, does,) with no limits, while shutting down a serious political analysis site like Predictit, is exactly the opposite of good policy. With its built in dollar limits, Predictit has safeguards, and the subject matter - real world politics and events - are things people should be paying attention to. Predictit promotes people being engaged in things we should all be concerned about. Sports betting has zero societal benefits. You're aiming at the wrong target.
