In Florida, where citrus farming is a way of life, political decisions about trade agreements and agricultural policies have significant consequences. Kalshi's election prediction markets offer a chance to understand and anticipate these changes. The CFTC’s prohibition on these markets is a disservice to farmers who depend on foresight to manage their businesses. Citrus exports are heavily influenced by international trade policies. Having access to predictive data on election outcomes would help us adjust our strategies for planting and exporting. It would also allow us to prepare for changes in labor laws, which affect our seasonal workforce. This tool is essential for mitigating the risks associated with political unpredictability.
