As a farmer, who comes from a family of farmers, political decisions on subsidies, trade tariffs, and environmental regulations directly impact my livelihood. Election prediction markets like those proposed by Kalshi can help me anticipate and hedge against these risks. The CFTC’s attempt to ban these markets is short-sighted. We rely on accurate data to make informed decisions about planting and investments. Denying us this tool leaves us vulnerable to unpredictable political changes. Let us have the means to manage our risks effectively. If you allow the rich and powerful the means to risk manage, allow the everyday American to do so too! Do not leave the farmers and Main Street behind... please.
