The educational and informative aspects of prediction markets are an invaluable tool in our ever complex and changing world. Low-barrier-to-entry ways for people to gain exposure to how real world markets work, like the futures contracts traded everyday on the CME and other market venues, is an on ramp for practical experience to people of all educational and financial backgrounds. I would be a terrible thing to lose.
I urge the CFTC to protect and enshrine in to rule or law, the ability of citizens of the United States to access the truly valuable information and lessons that are, available only through the type of prediction markets we already have.
