I use prediction markets as a hedging tool, not for gambling. They allow me to hedge my crypto holdings - I will bet against Bitcoin or Ethereum hitting certain milestones, allowing me to reap rewards whether they go up or down. I can also bet on the presidential election as a hedge, given that Trump will likely be more favorable towards crypto.
Overall, I think the CFTC's fear of betting is not scientifically grounded and I think basic rights such as this one should be protected by law, not up for grabs at the whims of a few politicians.
