I'm commenting on the CFTC's recent proposal on Event Contracts Involving Political Contests as Gaming.
I have used the site PredictIt.org for many years. I do not think this site should be considered gaming or against the public interest. The site is a useful scientific tool to understand what the general public thinks the outcome of a political contest will be. It is useful to inform polling on political contests, and to understand the outcomes of political races.
I strongly recommend that the CFTC does NOT ban sites like PredictIt.org from allowing users to stake or risk something of value on the outcome of a political contest.
Thank you.
