    You know how some folks are worried that if we start placing bets on elections, it'll lead to all sorts of meddling and foul play? Well, I'm not convinced. Here's the thing, anyone with the power to monkey with an election is probably already doing it to get what they want.

    And let's say some group tries to mess with an election - legally with donations or illegally by other means - all to make a quick buck off election markets. Well, they'd stick out like a sore thumb. It's like insider trading, there's transparency in markets and anything sketchy is gonna get noticed.

    But here's a positive spin: Election markets could be a real boon. They'd give campaign workers a heads-up on how the election might go. Plus, they'd make politics way more interesting for the average Joe, giving them a reason to get involved.

    So, in my book, the CFTC should definitely give the green light to election prediction markets.
