Election gambling would be dangerous for our democracy. Betting on election outcomes will create strong financial incentives for special interests to manipulate and interfere in our elections. There is no justification to put personal gain ahead of the public interest. One person, one vote is the bedrock of our democracy and if this is initiated it would put our country at risk, causing distrust and suspicion.
We already have a problem when wealthy special interests doing their best to manipulate our elections for financial gain. The last thing we need is to encourage this behavior. Our elections are not a game to be won or lost for financial gain.
