The notion of allowing betting on election outcomes is truly frightening. We must do everything possible to uphold the integrity of our elections and there are numerous serious and harmful hazards inherit in introducing gambling into a system that is about each eligible voter getting an unfettered opportunity to cast their ballot as they see fit. The potential for big money to alter the outcome of elections for the profit of gamblers is a direct threat to our democracy. Please strongly reject this dreadful proposal.
