I urge you to reject any proposals to allow betting on the outcome of political elections. Allowing this type of betting creates strong incentives for organizations and individual to manipulate and interfere in elections for their financial advantage, putting personal gain ahead of the public interest. There are plenty of opportunities available to people who want to gamble -- they don't need one that endangers our democracy.
