There is already a basic distrust of government and the process of electing the people who will represent us in government. If you allow gambling on the process and outcomes of our elections, you will be saying to the people of this country that the act of voting is only as important as being in being in attendance at a professional wrestling match. Lots of noise, but the outcome is already determined before the match happens.
Voting on elections makes the election the event that is most important, and not the people we elect to represent us in government. I urge you to reject this idea and move to resolve to prevent ideas like this from being considered in the future. Our system of government is and should be inclusive for all Americans and not become a spectator sport.
