It is a ridiculously BAD IDEA to permit election gambling. It goes against the public interest and would only attract more abuse by big monied special interests who will try and interfere and manipulate the outcomes for personal gain.
This would also reduce voter confidence, and foster a perception that the outcomes of elections are not determined by voters choices, but by these who bet on election results.
The bedrock of our democracy is--- one person, one vote.
There is already too much influence by dark money in our elections, which should also be undone.
