I strongly object to allowing anyone to run a gambling operation about the outcome of elections.
As soon as money can be made there will be bad actors who will try to influence the outcome of the election. This can go either way and I object to this kind of activity, even if it might help those who I support.
Allowing this proposal will undermine the integrity of our elections and our democracy. The perception of people betting on an election result will reduce voter confidence, lead to a perception that election outcomes are not solely determined by voters’ choices, and give ammunition to those who cry "stolen election."
Gambling, in general, disproportionately hurts the disadvantaged. Gambling on elections will be a double shot: they will lose money and they will lose confidence in the system.
There are already too many things to complain about the government. Don't make this another one.
