As a participant in prediction markets, I can attest that there has been no harm to me with the existence of prediction markets for elections. Their effect has improved my life by providing a safe and fun way to follow an election's races. They also provide valuable information on what the current participants' predictions are (supplementary to polls). These markets increase democratic citizenship and should remain legal.
