Dear Members of the Commission:
I am writing to urge your vote against gambling on our elections ... in any way, shape or form. To be quite truthful, I cannot imagine where such an idea originated. The idea seems rife with the possibility of corruption and even the implication of corruption would be corrosive to our elections.
I have been a poll watcher for many years and know our election workers to be faithful and honest (and they put in very long hours on election day). I wouldn't want to see any of them tempted to "fix" an election for the sake of the gamblers who have money riding on the results. Democracy is hard enough these days ... please don't make it harder (because it is very precious).
