Elections follow the principal of one person, one vote. Allowing betting on election outcomes will create financial incentives for special interests to work to manipulate and interfere with our elections, undermining the integrity of our democratic way of choosing our leaders. This will result in a reduction of voter confidence in our elections at a time when that is already a problem due to all the mis- and disinformation prevalent in our media of all types. Our democracy is already at risk from those who want to move us towards an autocracy. Allowing betting on election outcomes will only further that possibility. Please rule against this dangerous proposal!
