I whole heartedly support more transparency and in holding institutions accountable. Paperwork/record keeping is need to maintain accountability and to trace back any discrepancies. It should be paramount that institutes and individual investors be able to asses the solvency and financial state of banks, investment firm or any other potential fiduciary. Anything contrary to this is more or less entering into an contract without reading the fine print. It is irresponsible and appalling to know that no sufficient records are being kept.
