I am a individual who is in full support of elections markets coming to the Kalshi exchange for me to hedge on.
Certain candidates and their counter-progressive and isolationist policies would be a stain on the fundamentals of US economic power, which stem from an inclusive and innovative market that attracts the best talent from around the world. The very nature of the US as a weakening economy due to lack of innovation (thus productivity and efficiency) would have catastrophic effects on any US heavy portfolio, no matter what types of companies/equities. Hedging would be necessary to protect against these losses, stemming from a major political transition.
