I am a individual who is in full support of elections markets coming to the Kalshi exchange for me to hedge on.
Political control affects me in many ways.
Specifically California decided to ban the sales of new gasoline powered cars in 2035.
I think California will not be able to provide enough electric car charging stations in 2035 and I also don't think California has enough resources to generate electricity for 39 million people when we are forced to switch from gasoline engine cars to electric cars.
We just experienced 1 week long heat wave in 2022 September and we almost had scheduled power outage.
I would like to use Kalshi's contracts to hedge my risks by by purchasing the contract from Kalshi in case California fails to provide enough electric car charging stations in 2035..
California State did not ask my opinion and just decided to ban the sales of new gasoline engine cars in 2035. I had not control at all.
Kalshi is the only way to hedge my risk other than moving out of California before 2035.
