I am a family who is in full support of elections markets coming to the Kalshi exchange for me to hedge on. Political control affects me in many ways. Specifically I'm not a green card holder, and political control over congress affects me a lot when the government is doing things like renegotiating NAFTA or changing requirements for H1B, which may affect my work visa. My husband is also an immigrant, and we have a toddler and a baby here in the US, so having to move out of the country even temporarily would be difficult for us. I would use Kalshi's contracts to hedge my risks by being able to hedge the possibility of job loss or having to work outside of the USA due to changing visa requirements would really help with our peace of mind..
