    I am deeply opposed to this proposition. It is incredibly concerning for the prospects of democracy in defining economic incentives around mass voting behavior.

    Finally, having read many of the public comments, they all appear to be from (compensated?) undergraduates suggesting that they need political hedging to pay for college.

    In my experience teaching, this is a ridiculous proposition and behavior that is completely illogical: Students hedging against elections to pay for tuition? Few students can afford to gamble, and making it available in a political context is reprehensible.
