    Hi,

I urge the committee to reject this proposition.

In some of our city council, state, and Congressional elections, the outcome can be decided by a few hundred or thousand votes, and has spending in the tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I could not think of something more against the public interest than to have our youth or engaged population bet on the outcome of the election.

Imagine if, among an electorate of 30,000, a deciding margin (even 1,000 voters) have placed bets on the outcome?

Imagine a world wherein some percentage of voters walk into a ballot box more concerned with the effect on their wallet than their democracy?

I urge the committee to reject this perversion of voting by Silicon Valley.
