When one considers the political turmoil that House Republicans plan to unleash if they get control of the Senate, or the inability of Biden to have any judges or cabinet members confirmed in a Republican Senate, or the financial risk posed by a House GOP unable to extend the US Debt ceiling, it is necessary to be able to hedge risks posed by political events. Contrast this with the ability of a Democrat-controlled House and Senate to pass beneficial legislation, and it's clear that control of each chamber has far reaching economic impacts that cannot be otherwise accounted for when creating an investment portfolio.
