As a consumer, I believe it is very important for organizations to take measures to protect the privacy of their customers. I frequently shop online. Therefore, I often have to share my shipping address, billing address, and credit card information. It would be very reassuring to know that I am purchasing products or services from an organization that abides by this rule. From personal experience, I have known many consumers that have had their identity stolen from a data breach as a result of shopping online. By implementing this rule, I believe consumers will feel much safer conducting business with affected organizations. This could have a positive effect on the nation's economy. Based on the reasons described above, I support the adoption of this regulation. Although some organizations may view this security as costly and unnecessary to implement, I believe it will have a positive effect on consumer opinions in the future.
