I am a reporter from The Corporate Treasurer. I am writing an article about the CFTC’s proposed set of amendments for speculative positions in derivatives. I was wondering if I could ask you a couple of basic questions? I am based in Hong Kong so time difference might be an issue, so I’ve included the questions below to speed up the process.
1. How far reaching are the amendments likely to be? Will it affect Asia?
2. Are derivatives more expensive at the moment due to limits? Who is paying the extra cost?
3. Will this encourage treasurers and CFOs to use more derivatives?
4. Why is the CFTC doing this now?
