I hope that the commission will limit the ability of speculators to manipulate commodity prices -- particularly oil -- for short-term profit, but long-term hardship for consumers and the public. The economic disaster of 2008 should convince us that unregulated speculation contributes to risk and catastrophe for most of the population.
