Commissions are established in the United States to protect the interests of the people of the United States. Over time, commissions have evolved into protections for businesses instead. While it is true that profitable businesses are essential for our economy to be strong, pushing the interests of businesses before those of the people ends up hurting everyone except a select few who have been selected by those very commissions.
It is time to protect the nation by protecting the people who live here. Speculators and Wall Street gamblers do not deserve the attention that the people do. Please put into place restrictions that will help control speculation in the oil markets and in all other financial markets.
