From what I understand about this possible change it has the potential to reduce the amount of speculation in the market place. The futures market has to have speculators to make it function correctly, and anything that would limit that participation could have detrimental effects on the markets. I like the proposed change to the increase in the single month contracts, but making the all month limit the same as the single month could have the effect of deferred months not being as liquid as the front months. I would like to see the single month changed to the proposed levels and increase the all months by two to three times the proposed levels.
