As a pork producer and manager of a family farm, the ability to manage risk in a commodity business is critical to the success of our business. The number of individuals and entities that are willing to take on the risk born by our production process, are few, and any action that makes it more difficult for the sharers of risk to do so,hurts our business opportunities.
More effort in enforcement of the current rules would better serve the players in the market and the country as a whole than increasing the limitations on involvement in the market.
