Manitoba Corporation is a non-ferrous scrap metal recycler established in 1916 with plant operations located in Lancaster(Buffalo), NY and St. Louis, MO. The primary commodity that we handle is copper. We extensively utilize futures contracts in order to mitigate risk of market movement. We never anticipated the risk associated with the use of our funds for any purpose other than to support our positions. Through the MF Global experience, we learned otherwise. We certainly appreciate the customer protections being proposed and would also very much support the comments submited by the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries as a means to further protect and afford options to customers of FCM's.
