Complex derivatives and other unregulated financial instruments are at the heart of the financial meltdown of 2008 that threw our economy into a tailspin. We have seen that deregulation of banks and brokerage houses has left them open to illegal criminal manipulation. Wall street must be held to a higher standard or they will once again outsmart themselves and the regulators and send our economy back into decline.
