Dear CFTC Commissioners,
Congress passed effective legislation to better regulate financial
markets and reduce the likelihood of another financial meltdown. It is
not for the CFTC to subvert that legislation but rather to fulfill
completely its intent with appropriate and effective regulation.
The manipulation of the markets by speculators creates an element of
chaos in the national (and thus world) economy and must be held to a
minimum.
For the sake of US economic stability, you should fulfill the mandate of
Congress with strong regulations rather than succumbing to the greedy
wheedling of speculators.
