Who ever is in charge of the fuel pricing is intent on turning the USA into a 3rd world country. Since this all began 3 years ago, my husband has lost nearly 75% of his income. I was a stay at home mother with a business of my own. Due to our extreme loss of income, we have not been able to use our furnace for consistant heat for 3 years as we cannot afford the oil for it. We are unable to meet our obligations due to the lack of income, resulting in our house being put into foreclosure after living in the same home for 32 years. I have gone back to school because I am not able to get a local job because all of my work experience does not count on a resume, unless I drive 30 miles one way for a minumum wage job that will not be worth my time, because all I would do is end up exhausted working 8 hours, driving 2 hours a day and have maybe 20 dollars left over after the taxes and the gas is taken out. My husband has lost his job of 22 yrs for the same company because they do not have work due the the extra cost of every thing. We have now lost our insurance because we don't have the 800 dollars a month to pay the COBRA for it. So I will have trouble getting needed medication for chronic illnesses. We will soon be forced to move from our house because my husband does not have a steady job. But we don't have any idea of where we will be able to live as our house payment is less than the current rent prices in our area, or any other area that we have seen. We could move to another state but unless we can find a job that will pay the expenses to live, that will not do much for us.
We had our own business, it grossed 10% of what it did 3 yrs ago, this past year operating on a loss. No matter what we do the price is going up because nearly every thing is based on the cost of producing it and getting it to you. Food will soon be a foregone commodity that no one will be able to afford unless someone puts a stop to the insanity. You seem to be intent on putting the farmers of this country out of business, either by spending them or taxing them to death. Do you really think the economy is getting better? Come to the area I live in and I will show you first hand the people that are doing without.
