It is time for the commission to curb the ability of speculators in oil and gas who force prices up for their own profit. They are making millions of dollars, perhaps billions, at the expense of the American public. We are retired, living on a fixed income and are seeing tax increases on our property due to increases in costs to operate our local government. Some of those increased cost are for gas for the county and township vehicles. Everything at the stores is going up in price. Groceries especially have skyrocketed due to the additional costs of transporting them, We have had to curtail any travel for pleasure which was to be part of our retirement because of the cost of filling the gas tank on our Honda SUV, and it goes on and on. It is a tragedy that your organization has done nothing to stop or control these abuses, for the sake of your own profits. This is not supply and demand. This a hijacking of the American economy on the backs of the American taxpayers.
It is time to put an end to this now. I believe if you do not, our congress should place price controls on gas and oil much as was done in during the World War II. I can live with ration stamps if I can see your inflated profits gone and the prices reduced to a reasonable level.
