Allowing prices for products sold in the United States to fluctuate based on speculation is not sound. The United States does not import oil from Libya and yet prices for oil products in the United States are fluctuating based upon speculation that the current situation n Libya will affect oil production in areas of the world that provide oil supplies to the United States. Oil companies are making money based on fear rather than actual supply and demand.
