    Comment Text:

My name is Carol Dewey and I am retired on a fixed income. Gas where I live have gone up almost one dollar a gallon. Higher gas prices is causing the price of food and others necessities to skyrocket, too. It just does not seem ethical that a bunch of investors speculating on commodities should be able to cost me so much more money to live.

I am writing to ask you to stop excessive gambling in commodities markets like food and oil.

Speculation on commodities causes financial hardships on families every where. Increases in gas and food prices force us to make cut back on other things and make sacrifices. Especially right now, with so many families struggling, and unemployment still so high, we cannot allow speculators to unduly affect our food and gas prices.

Please put in place effective rules to limit this kind of speculation, and do not allow any exemptions or loopholes.

    Thank you for your consideration.
