Like most of the 700 plus employees at my workplace, I drive 30 or more mile one-way to work each day. There are no transportation alternatives such as mass transit or car pooling. Each of us must drive from our homes from various parts of Florida to a remote rural part of south-central Florida. We work at a state-operated secure rehabilitation facility in an area of high unemployment and low-wage jobs. The high cost of gasoline, fueled by speculators, further diminishes the buying power of our relatively wages low wages.
We are held hostage to speculators with ZERO OPTIONS!
Thank you.
