I am upset that bankers and those working in the financial industry would play, bet, gamble, speculate on the industries that deal directly with the lives of every day people by betting and gambling on the futures of oil and food prices. For the sake of financial gain, they are messing with the lively hood of the people of the United States. With the recession, it' hard enough for most low to moderate income families to survive. I think that the time has come to put a stop to those in the financial industry from messing with the futures and the price controls of commodities that pertain to everyday living needs such as oil and food.
I graduated with a business degree from GA Tech and have worked in the financial industry so I understand the various financial mechanisms of futures dealings very well. Using those financial mechanisms to bet or gamble on the future prices of oil and fod is despicable. The people who do that kind of work are really playing with the lives of people. Whether some families have a nutritious meal, let alone, have anything to eat at all depends on the betting and gambling of those bankers. There should be no gambling allowed in those kinds of industries.
Now, I am the Director of the Housing Counseling department at a HUD housing counseling agency. Many families in need, some homeless, come to our agency. With the rise in the price of food and oil due to some speculative trading of the bankers, those families have had a harder time paying for gas to look for jobs and providing food to feed their families. It has been more costly for us to provide gas cards and food to people because of the price hikes.
Please stop all the price speculation in the oil and food industries.
