It's about time that this situation was dealt with properly. It's beyond disgraceful that the irresponsible actions of a few hedge fund traders with more money than they know what to do with, are allowed to effectively steal money out of everybody's pockets, when they cause the prices of oil and other commodities to be artificially raised as a result of their speculatory activities. And to make matters worse, the higher prices don't benefit a single person involved in the actual production and distribution of these products, but in fact make their jobs all the more difficult. In short, it hurts everybody, except the speculators, who are nothing but parasites in the whole process ! If they were totally removed from the situation, it would only make thing better for everybody. The only people who should be allowed to buy commodities are the people who actually take resposibility for processing and distributing them.
