Metals Hearing
Silver Position Limits and Concentration
Good Morning;
I would like to say thanks for the opportunity to comment on the issue
of position limits for precious metals. In my opinion, the CFTC NEEDS
to do the following:
¯ Establish a speculative position limit in COMEX silver (1500
contracts or less).
¯ Restrict all hedging exemptions, except to legitimate hedgers.
Stop the concentration levels in COMEX silver futures that have been
experienced over the past few years, particularly on the short side of
the market.
These steps would go a long way towards righting this market.
Thank you for your time and efforts.
Sincerely,
w hadley
