Comment Text:
Predictit is not only a valuable resource for research in economics, statistics, and political science; it is also a legitimate market for predicting future events which are partially random and partially predictable. This, unlike gambling games such as poker, slots, or roulette, is exactly the same as the stock market, in which we effectively gamble on uncertain but partially predictable outcomes in the business world. There is no good reason to restrict this market, making it less informative for researchers and more punishing for interested traders.
