While it is politically incorrect to suggest that regulation is anything but evil, the fact is that speculation in the market for commodities such as oil, wheat and produce is artificially driving the price of these items up unnecessarily, at the expense of the American People.
Regardless of what the Tea Party and Conservative Republicans say, think and do, your committee needs to recognize the good of the American People and ignore the cowardly self-interests of these conservatives that have no concept of economics, beyond the wildly false assumptions of so-called “supply-side economics”.
I ask that you ignore partisan politics and undertake to regulate these activities, once again, for the good of the American People.
