"Prediction markets" are just gambling. There is no reason to treat them differently and a multitude of reasons to regulate them as such. The potential abuses of betting on an outcome in the real world are horrifying. This is a national security risk, a public health risk, and a vector for corruption on a massive scale. Polymarket and Kalshi should be shut down. Failing that a new mechanism for adjudicating "correct" bets must be instituted under public control.
