I think prediction markets are extremely DANGEROUS. We are seeing an epidemic on younger Americans, mostly male, developing serious gambling addictions. As a financial planner I am familiar with how futures markets work and prediction markets take it in the wrong direction. The fact that we need to have a “death carve out” for some of the predictions is indicative of the problems with it.
Insider trading is rampant with insider knowing outcomes and placing the bets case in the point the recent military member who front runned the Maduro regime change.
This has been an experiment and in my opinion it hasn’t worked and we need this type of abuse of futures market to been down sway with.
