I do not believe prediction markets should be allowed. People become incentivized to make their own predictions come true, which could lead to death threats towards those who these predictions are about. Without limitations on what the content of these predictions could be someone may become incentivized to allow horrible things to happen. An example could include things like being able to predict whether someone would commit a murder vs someone missing a shot in a basketball game. While betting on one of these predictions to come true someone becomes incentivized to make these things occur. Someone could talk to this person and convince them to commit the murder while someone may be willing to drug the basketball player. Since these are events that happen in real life people could become obsessed with forcing their predictions to come to pass. All in all a horrible things. Gambling and betting should remain within regulated spaces where people do not have to worry about someone's predictions ruining another persons life.
